Stanislaw Eleszkiewicz's work depicts a seated man, shown half-length in a tight framing that focuses attention on the figure. The character is represented in three-quarter view, slightly turned to the right of the composition. His head is tilted forward and his gaze directed downward, creating an introspective posture. The model wears a loose garment in red, gray, and dark tones, whose large folds structure a large part of the composition.

The face is treated in a synthetic and expressive manner. The anatomical features are simplified, particularly in the eyes, nose, and mouth. The contours remain deliberately imprecise and blend in places with the surrounding matter. The hands occupy an important place in the organization of the work. Gathered in the center of the composition, they constitute a point of visual convergence and participate in the construction of the figure. A cigarette appears near the face, reinforcing the identification of the character.

The background consists of a set of fragmented forms and large colored flat areas that evoke no precisely identifiable setting. The space is little constructed according to traditional rules of perspective and relies more on the opposition between the figure and the background. The contours of the character remain porous and maintain a visual continuity with the pictorial environment.

The brushstroke is free, thick, and particularly visible. The material is applied with broad gestures, creating texture effects that animate the surface of the canvas. Some areas reveal superimpositions of colored layers and impastos that accentuate the expressive character of the work. Volumes are more suggested by chromatic contrasts than by academic modeling.

The color palette is dominated by dark tones composed of blacks, browns, grays, and deep blues, to which are added red and pinkish accents in the treatment of the garment. The lightest parts are concentrated on the face and hands, creating points of contrast that immediately attract the eye. The light is diffuse and does not come from a clearly identifiable source. It primarily serves to highlight certain elements of the figure rather than to construct a realistic space.

Through its energetic brushstroke, simplification of forms, and deliberate deformations of the figure, this work belongs to the expressionist vein developed by Stanislaw Eleszkiewicz, where the representation of the character prioritizes plastic intensity and the expressiveness of the pictorial material.
