Joachim Weingart's work depicts a young blonde woman, captured in an intimate posture while putting on her stocking. The framing is tight, bringing the viewer closer to the subject of the scene and focusing attention on the gesture while reducing contextual elements. The young woman is slightly off-center to the left and leaning forward, creating a dynamic of movement. This proximity to the model reinforces the introspective and everyday character of the model.

The young woman's leaning forward reveals her chest, and her arms seem to extend along her legs. The contours of the body are quite fine and blend into the composition. The face dissolves into the pictorial matter and is characterized by simplified features accentuated by colored touches, especially on the cheeks. The complexion of her skin is suggested by pinkish and purplish tones, and the white slip blends with the body. The treatment of the body thus favors a sensitive and expressive approach rather than a precise anatomical representation.

In the background, the surrounding space is loosely structured and tends towards abstraction. Nevertheless, a horizontal element is discernible, potentially evoking a table, punctuated by green and ochre touches, which introduces a slight spatial organization. However, the background remains indeterminate and is composed of warm tones. This partial dissolution of the decor into the colored matter helps to refocus attention on the female figure and the emotional atmosphere of the scene.

The composition is therefore characterized by an intimate atmosphere with expressive colors that model the young woman's body and structure the entire scene. The chromatic variations and the freedom of the brushstroke contribute to an aesthetic close to Expressionism, where subjectivity and sensation take precedence over descriptive realism.
